Hey you guys! I feel like it’s been too long since I’ve done an outfit post! (Even though I just did my 4th of July style). Today I wanted to share with you my top three summer wardrobe staples!
So it’s been a while since I’ve talked about my capsule wardrobe. I am still doing it but with much less rules and guidelines as I mentioned in my post here. Over the past year, I haven’t put a ton of thought into my capsule wardrobe planning. I have been keeping it simple, replacing worn out items, adjusting it to my stay-at-home mom lifestyle, and really just wearing what I love! Ok, on to my three summer wardrobe staples.
*Some items were gifted by PinkBlush, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Black Maxi Dress
The first summer wardrobe essential is a comfortable black maxi dress. I’ve honestly been searching for over a year for the perfect simple black maxi dress. I am super picky (that’s probably why I’ve been searching for over a year!) and I am happy to say that I have finally found it! PinkBlush has this adorable, amazingly soft, short-sleeved maxi dress. You guys, it met all of my qualifications that I was looking for! I wanted it to be soft, I wanted sleeves instead of cami straps or sleeveless, and I wanted the material to be light and breathable (you know, since I’ll be wearing it in the middle of summer). I could not be happier with this dress and now I can finally stop looking for that perfect black maxi dress. 😉
The next item that I consider a staple for your summer wardrobe is a pair of comfortable sandals (similar here). The ones I’m wearing I actually bought this year because I really wanted something fun and colorful to wear with my extremely neutral wardrobe (I’m getting better you guys, I’ve added color this summer!) It’s so fun to find something that makes you smile every time you put it on! So find that; the shoes that make you smile every time you put them on.
The last item on my summer wardrobe must have list is a hat. I know I used to never wear hats (then I learned how amazing they are at hiding unwashed hair, haha). Hats are not only fun to wear and a great add on to any outfit, they are great for protecting your face from the sun! I am all about protecting your skin from the sun! One of the easiest ways for me is to throw on a hat (and it helps if you just don’t feel like doing your hair that day). The hat I’m wearing in these photos is my nicer hat that I actually don’t wear that often; I’m usually seen in a baseball type hat. But it is such a cute add-on to your summer outfits and it is great for keeping your face protected from the sun.
