Happy Monday! I totally took a break from blogging last week because I have been extremely busy with my photography business and with launching the fall collection for my etsy shop! But, before I jump into all things fall here on the blog, I wanted to share my simple summer go to outfit!
Even before I created my capsule wardrobe (read about how I did that here), I noticed that I would usually grab for the same items in my closet. Clearing out my closet of everything else that I always skipped over helped me to see things better. I had more room to see the things that I loved. Anyway, on to my simple go to summer outfit.
This is just an example, but the basic idea of it is that I always grab some sort of distressed denim shorts (I prefer longer shorts when I am out running around after a toddler), a tee shirt which I knotted to the side to help give some structure to it, sandals, and of course, accessories! (See my favorite summer accessories here).

Summer is always hard for me to feel put together. I love fall and winter because I can layer my clothing! But during the summer, that is not an option, so I have to get creative so I do not fall into a rut of just putting on a tee shirt and shorts and throwing my hair up into a messy ponytail (um…that’s totally what I’m wearing as I type this, so it’s not like I don’t ever do that… 😉 ).
But, putting a little more effort in my outfit to make it look just a little more put together can do wonders for my confidence! And that’s really why I even post outfits here, is to maybe help someone who is struggling with looking put together and therefore with feeling confident in how they look. It can be so intimidating with so many fashion bloggers wearing designer clothing. Do they look amazing, yes! But, for the average woman, especially a stay at home mom, that cost is not a possibility or a priority.
So, I hope that this might inspire you to look around in your closet at what you have and to put together something even as simple as this, but that makes you feel beautiful and confident! And that you can wear while chasing after your toddler 😉
