Since having my son, I have struggled with finding my “mom style”. I want to dress in a way that is still true to my style, but I also need to remember that I have to wear something that I can easily nurse in. I was afraid I would fall into the frumpy mom look and that I wouldn’t be able to wear anything that I loved. For a while, I did and I wasn’t happy with how I looked.
I have always loved dressing up, but since I was just staying home, I fell into wearing yoga pants and baggy v-neck tees that I didn’t even really like.
*I was given this maxi dress in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I missed dressing up occasionally, even if it was just to run some errands. I tried going dress shopping but would always walk away empty handed because I could not easily nurse in them. Then I came across PinkBlush! I had seen their clothes online before but I thought it was only maternity clothes. It is not! All of their clothing can be worn before, during, and after pregnancy. It was almost as if they heard my nursing mama struggles and knew exactly what I was looking for. They have tons of nursing friendly options; tops, dresses, and maxi dresses. (Cue the hallelujah chorus here 😉 ).
I instantly began checking out their dress options and fell in love with the gorgeous print on this Pink Rose Watercolor Floral Maxi. I love maxi dresses because they are extremely comfortable and can be worn in summer or winter! I always joked that maxi dresses are “fancy sweats” because that is how comfortable they are! And this dress did NOT disappoint! It is super soft and so comfortable to wear. The material is breathable which is perfect for hot summer days. I loved that I could dress it up or dress it down for any occasion. And that is exactly what I am going to show you.
Casual Everyday Look:
For my first look, I will be showing you how I would wear this dress as a casual “everyday” look. It is perfect for playing at the park with my son or for running errands around town. I styled it with simple nude sandals so that nothing would take away from the gorgeous look of the dress. My only issue with the dress (which is a problem with any maxi’s I purchase) is that there was not a petite option. I am only 5 feet tall, so it was a bit long on me. I fixed this by simply taking some of the dress and tying it in a knot on one side. I then pulled half of my hair back and I was ready to spend a day at the park with my son while still looking super cute!
Like I mentioned before, this dress is so easy to nurse in! The top is a wrap style, so I can easily pull it over to nurse. Have I mentioned that I LOVE that about this dress? 😉
Date Night Style:
My second look is my date night look! My husband and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary and this is what I plan to wear to dinner. I styled the dress this time with gold earrings, bracelets, and light brown wedges! The wedges added the prefect amount of height so I didn’t have to worry about the dress length. I swiped on some hot pink lipstick and I am ready for a night on the town with my husband!
I absolutely love this dress and am excited that I can wear it during any (hopeful) future pregnancies. I will definitely be checking out PinkBlush again for nursing friendly attire!
