Hey ya’ll! Wow, we are already having temperatures of 100 degrees here! So we are trying to enjoy being outside in the mornings before it gets to 100. I’ll have to look at a few ideas to do with my son when it is super hot outside. But I usually try to keep his preschool time in the afternoon so we have things to keep him busy during the hottest part of the day. Anyway, moving on.
The weather here has been so gorgeous lately! It has been in the high 70s to mid 80s already and we are so ready for pool days, eating watermelon outside, and making homemade popsicles! Last summer was the first year my son really started to get interested in the pool and water activities. And we discovered that he would rather be outside all day long if he could, haha. Needless to say, we are so ready for mornings at the pool, snacking on watermelon after naptime, and running in the sprinklers in the afternoon.READ MORE
A few weeks ago, we were able to escape for a short ocean-side getaway. My husband and I have always felt that traveling in the car for long distances always ends up bringing us closer together. Our first anniversary trip was a week long of driving up the coast and stopping at new places each night, so any long trip (especially near the ocean) always reminds me of those days. We gathered up our things when he got off of work and we were on our way.
This was the first long road trip that our son had been on now that his car seat is forward facing, so we were curious to see how he would do. By the time we arrived to our hotel on the beach,READ MORE
Anyone else so ready for summer already!? We have actually already had a few pretty warm days and have been enjoying marking things off of our spring bucket list. My parents got our little guy a sand and water table for Easter and he loves it! It’s great because if it’s a colder day I can just not fill up the water part and he can play in the sand and if it’s hotter that day, we just fill up the water side and splash away! It is a perfect toy to have in a tiny back patio area.
Since I’ve got summer on my mind, I wanted to share a few things that I believe to be toddler summer must haves!READ MORE
So, tonight’s post is a little spontaneous, but we just enjoyed an afternoon of dying eggs for Easter! I wanted to try something different that wouldn’t make too much of a mess for my toddler to participate in. I had one idea in mind that he could do and we were going to try one other idea. We ended up trying four different ways of coloring eggs (other than in the vinegar/water “egg bath” way). And no, I did not end up having time to try dying them naturally like I mentioned in my bucket list. Maybe next year we will be a little more prepared for this. But, most of these ideas are super easy to do and you probably have all of the supplies in your kitchen already!READ MORE
It is officially spring! It’s that time that it begins to cool down (aka about 75 degrees) before it gets too hot to go outside during the summer; so I like to make the most out of it!READ MORE
I love throwing a good party! Last year when my son turned one, I began planning his birthday party when he turned six months old. I was really excited at the thought of being able to throw my child a birthday party especially since he is my first baby. So I began the planning process very early. I searched on Pinterest for the perfect theme and then once I found that, I began looking at different DIY décor ideas and planning the menu, games, and party favors.
It was all going well until about a month before he turned one. I began realizing that I didn’t have much time left for all the projects I wanted to complete.READ MORE
What do you think of when you hear the words “living room”? For me, I picture our family gathered together playing on the floor with my son’s cars or dinosaurs. I picture pizza and movie night eating on the floor in front of the TV. I picture quiet mornings sipping coffee and holding hands with my husband. I picture no couch space and balloons scattered across the floor as family gathers together to celebrate a birthday. I picture laughing at my husband’s corny joke as we enjoy an at home date night. For me, the living room is the central hub of the house. That is where we spend probably 75% of our day. READ MORE
We have been talking about changing up the style of our living room for a while now. When we got married, our entire house theme was the colors black, gray, and red. I loved it, but after now 5 1/2 years later….I’m ready for an update 😉
So, I did what any girl would do these days and began checking out Pinterest for something that I liked. READ MORE
Good Morning! Remember how I told you all that I am going to be more intentional with going out on dates with my hubby? Well we had our first date (in a long time) a few weeks ago and we seriously had a blast! I wanted to go again the next day, haha. I seriously do think it is so good for couples (especially if you have kids!) to have some time together, away from the house, without your precious little one. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing things together as a family, but it really is so important for you to get that one on one time with your husband.
Anyway, since Valentine’s Day is less than a month away (wait, what!?!), READ MORE
